my father and mother were both nine when this song hit #1 on the billboard charts, and both still know all the words.
in the course of researching this I learned that this song now plays on “lemon party” (I was tricked by “lemon party” way before it had a soundtrack). I don’t know what jimmy soul would think of that. my parents would probably not approve.
